Valentine's Day Tree in the Den from last week's Homemaking Weekend Link Up Party!

 I am deeply flattered!!

I want to take this time to high light Mrs. Sarah Coller, who I feel is an amazing woman......

If you are not familiar with Sarah, she is a stay at home Mom who home schools her children and she  recently gave birth to her 9th child!!

 Yes, her 9th child!!!

Look at this beautiful family and look at how stunning this Mom of 9 children is!!

I am amazed and in awe of women like Sarah and all other women who blog about how they embrace life and find the JOY in whatever life sends their way!

This is what Sarah's Home Making Weekend Link Up Party is about in her own words...

"All posts related to the home are welcome:  crafts, recipes, DIY, encouragement, musings---I'm excited to see what you've got to share! "

Please take some time to visit Sarah and maybe even link up a post or two!!

Thanks again, Sarah!

Now,

I want to share my Powder Room with you.

Many of you know that I decorate my Powder Room for Christmas with Snow Buddies.

If you missed my Powder Room decorated for Christmas, please click HERE

After Christmas, I take down any Christmas related things and replace them with Valentine's Day decorations...

This is the corner by the sink.....

Remember when I went shopping after Christmas, I bought a bunch of things at the Christmas Tree Shop????
These red bottle trees were among that haul......

I loved them but had no idea where and how I was going to use them but I have learned over the years never to let that stop me from buying something that is tugging on my heart strings....

Being that the trees were red and the pots were silver, I thought they would be perfect as part of my V Day decorations in the Powder Room......

Here is one of them on this shelf with one of my V Day Snow Buddies.....

And the other one is on this shelf  with more V Day Snow Buddies.............

I have the theme of Penguin's Hockey on this shelf.....

Sorry for the big break in pictures, having trouble with Blogger, I guess!

And this is the shelf above the sink....
And something I made a while ago....

I added some hearts to the tree after taking off all Christmas related ornaments.....

So I guess you could say this is my 5th Valentine's Day Tree.....

And lit up at night without using the blue battery operated LED lights, just the white ones that I have on this Tree.........

I left out my Putz houses.....

And again, added some hearts and V Day Snow Buddies here......

Took down the Santa's that were on these shelves and moved the white trees on to them and added blue snow flake ornaments and hearts to the shelves.

Remember this mercury glass heart that was given to me by my friend, Anne Marie??????

Love it here....

And Joe says this V Day Snow Buddy says it all about me.....

The Queen of Everything!!!!

LOL!!

And I moved this wreath, that I made last year onto the door of the Powder Room after making a new wreath for the Living Room Mirror....

I even have a cherub wreath hanger for it!

I also made a Valentine Wreath for my front door.......

I made it using Deco Mesh , glittered red roses and fluffy white roses from the Dollar Tree and Rose Ribbon from the Dollar Tree for the bow......

So I do have a bit of Valentine's Day decorations among my Winter outdoor decorations......

And speaking of Winter......

I am sure you all heard of the Nor'Easter that hit the northeastern seaboard last night. We are pretty far inland......

In what they call the Valley cities here in NEPA, meaning Wilkes  Barre and Scranton, we got about 5-6 inches but the Pocono Mountains got a bit more, 6-8 inches.

The sky resorts are going to be dancing all the way to the bank after this weekend in the Pocono's!!

LOL!

I enJOYed this snow fall because I was off and did not have to drive  to work last night in it!!!!

WHOA!!

I creeped outside this morning about 6:00 am to quick take these pictures of the snow and the red V Day lights I added to the garland.....

You can see a hint of the red lights under the snow.....

There's my wreath on the front door.....

Looking towards my flower bed under the Living Room window.....

See the lighted Red Heart in the window.....

It looks more red but daylight was already breaking through when I took these pictures!

I have a red bulb in my lantern.....

Looking towards my neighbors and the roof of Lowe's from my front door!!!

And my back yard, where there was hardly any snow when the storm started....

I was off Thursday and Friday nights and with the storm coming, I thought  I would make some comfort food.....

So I made some Beef Stew .......

I usually put carrots in it but I forgot them this time......

And with some freshly baked rye bread......

My son, Joe, comes on Thursdays for Dinner and since he just received a substantial bonus at his job and Beef Stew is one of his favorite's, I thought I would surprise him......

He took home what was left!!  LOL!!

What did I do on my days off?????
I needed a bit if a break so I took time for me.. ...

I relaxed, I crafted and I found the JOY in just being home......

I re-charged......

Now back to work I go this weekend.....

Stay Safe and Warm in this storm and I hear there is more to come this week for my neck of the woods....

Gorgeous pictures of your snow. Love the lights/decorations against the snow. Makes me wish we still had lights outside too. The girls are hoping to hit the sledding hills later today.

Oh, I wish we had snow! We've not had any for two years! I love the wreath on your front door. I'm hoping to start a Putz house collection this year as well...yours are cute!

Hope you have a relaxing weekend!

Hi Debbie,

You were up before the crack of dawn to get those photos, wow! Your front porch area looks so warm and inviting with the decorations and the lights, like it's calling out to folks to just stop on by and enjoy. We got a lot of snow here too, it's the front we had here Wednesday/Thursday that blew out east and caused all the snow there. I took some pictures too because the snow was the wet sticky kind and the trees and shrubs are COATED and so pretty! I will probably post them later today. I have a question about those cone-shapes (they remind me of Christmas tree shape) covered in what looks like cream-colored crochet -- they are beautiful, caught my eye instantly. They are on two little shelves flanking a larger shelf. So different and so unusual, elegant. Did you make those? Wondering now where I may be able to find something similar if they were store bought.

BTW, that stew looks absolutely delicious! Last night was definitely a beef-stew sort of night here too. I made a version that's called "beef burgundy" but only because it has wine in the recipe (the alcohol bakes off, leaving the rich concentrated flavor of the red wine in the sauce). Mine was also beef stew meat, golden mushroom soup, mushrooms and I did add cut up carrots to mine. Cooked on low oven heat for 3 hours, the entire house still has the aroma in it this morning from last night, making me hungry. Time to eat something here! You take care, blogging buddy.

What beautiful pictures of the snow on your porch! I am glad to hear you are seeing a less 'severe' side of this storm! I will be enjoying a sunny day in the 60's ...lol! I have been down with the flu and have done zilch this week on the house but it looks like you have been busy in the powder room and outdoors! Everything is soooo valentiney...just the way I like it! Hugs, Penny

Your beef stew looks so yummy, I wouldn't even miss the carrots! Those red trees are perfect for your Valentine's vignettes, Debbie. We had about 9-10 inches of snow here on Staten Island, I think. Today is a bright sunny day, hope it is warmer so it can start to melt. xo

That pot of beef stew looks delicious! Its such great comfort food during a cold winter storm. Congratulations to Joey on his bonus!

I love the winter decorations. As much as sometimes I get tried of the cold or bitter days, I really try to find joy in each day and not wish my days away. And the bottleneck red trees are perfect for today. Happy Valentine's Day my friend! Thank you for sharing with all of us at TTF.

Your snowy pictures are so pretty, Debbie! Love all your Snow Buddies too.
I am so happy to hear that your Joe won't have to deliver on Saturdays any more come August!
My hubby never did deliver on the weekends as our post office cut it out many years ago; thank goodness! Five days a week is hard enough this time of year.

Thank you for joining me at my HOME and Happy Valentines Day to you Joe!

Hugs,
Sandi
